As many artists will agree, mostly my days are spent head down painting...or out on my bike looking for something to photograph or sketch - but if I've done or seen anything particularly interesting I'll be giving you a flavour of it here.
Painting in lockdown....
During the COVID-19 lockdown I've been working on a couple of paintings of boats and harbours.
The first one shows a very crowded harbour, with the fishing vessels jostling for space. The second is a much calmer and serene view - of the marina in Kirkcudbright. It shows the Kirkcudbright Sailing Club and Sea Cadets' buildings, with a couple of wooden rowing boats in the foreground.
I love both of these images although, so far as a place to live is concerned, I much prefer the quiet scene. But, as we emerge from the lockdown, Kirkcudbright will welcome back with open (socially distanced) arms all of the lovely visitors who usually flock to our little town to enjoy its many attractions.
